Laminated floors

There are a variety of products on the market to suit all tastes and applications. You can get Moisture resistant flooring for bathrooms & kitchens, but personally don't fit them in bathrooms. And I do not recommend them fitted in kitchens due to the high risk of water penetration. For example simple cleaning with a mop and bucket could cause the joints to swell and the floor being damaged.  Therefore not very practical in this kind of applications in my option.

When thinking about having laminated floor fitted you may wish to consider whether you want new skirting at the same time. The final finish looks neater if old skirting is removed and new fitted after new floor (zoom in on pictures to see what I mean by moving mouse over picture and left click).

Traditional type laminated floor shown above with skirting replaced after new floor has been fitted.

To the left you can see the herringbones effect laminated floor very effective, and different from the normal plank type available.  A bit more difficult to fit and allowances must be made for more waste than plank types. But well worth the extra expense I think.
